Best hardware configuration

Post by ttanemori » Tue Jul 15, 2014 11:26 am

Hello. I want to set up one dedicated desktop computer just for data recovery using R-Studio. Which components should I invest more? I am thinking like this:

Small system drive just for OS and R-Studio
Big secondary hard drive for recovered files. If possible, I want to use RAID 1.
Ports for USB3.0, 2.0, eSATA, Firewire 800. They are to give back the recovered data to our staff.
Gigabit Ethernet port. To store data to the local server.

Is the data recovery memory intensive task? What could enhance the speed of recovery? Number of CPU cores?

Any advice is appreciated.

Data recovery is a VERY memory intensive task, especially when processing huge RAIDs. CoreI5-I7 is enough.
The rest seems reasonable.
