Does your R-Drive Image product use a special boot loader

Post by JustWondering » Mon Sep 19, 2011 5:05 pm

Hello,

Does your R-Drive Image product use a special boot loader so there is no live cd needed to do a restore of an image? We are looking for a product that will let us push out a restore image before OS boot up for OS refreshing or re-imaging for hardware/software issue.

Thanks!

Yes, R-Drive Image creates a special Linux-based startup disk where there is nothing except R-Drive Image itself. It performs exactly the thing you need - works with system partitions. You may read more about that in our article Computer Recovery and System Restore.

We are not looking for a live cd/dvd we need to use to restore an image. We are looking for a boot loader that sits on the machine after post and right before the OS Loaders, like they way Acronis Backup & Recovery does.

Sorry for the long delay with the answer.
Yes, R-Drive Image has a selective boot loader with an adjustable timeout. The user can select which OS is to load - Windows or R-Drive Image startup.
