How to recover deleted file without extension

Post by macuser » Tue Sep 05, 2017 9:25 am

Hello,

I need to recover 1 deleted file. The problem is that this file is without extension and is text document.
I tried with signature. But It searches at file start and file end... is there option to search somewhere in the middle of the file which contains my keyword ?

Thanks!

What is your system? A mac computer? And what is the text document? A plain text file? If yes, you may open the disk in the disk editor, search for the pattern, and then copy the text and then paste it to the, say, any text editor. See R-Studio for Mac help: Text/Hexadecimal Editor.

Right-click the disk and select View/Edit in the contextual menu. Read the help, it explains how to open an object and how to search for a certain string in the object.
