Hi,
I would like to create a startup disk on an external hard drive that automatically runs an rdi script when the drive is connected and the PC is powered up. This script will perform a differential backup of the C partition then shutdown the PC. Is this possible?
I ask as there appears to be no option to create a backup of a partition from the startup disk.
Thank you,
Jon.

But the startup disk doesn't support automatic script execution. And it's possible to create a backup of a system disk using the startup disk.

Can I boot to command line in startup disk, then run a backup command e.g. R-DriveImage [/switches] command <params>
Re: Run rdi backup script from startup disk
No. There's no a command-line utility on the startup verson. You see, the startup version is Linux-based, and doesn't understand the Windows C:, D:, and the similar disk letters.Jon wrote:Can I boot to command line in startup disk, then run a backup command e.g. R-DriveImage [/switches] command <params>
Re: Run rdi backup script from startup disk
Okay thank you. I'll look for an alternative backup tool.

Jon.

I don't think there's any. For that Windows/Linux incompatibility.
