R-Studio Emergency v8 doesn't "see" files

I just updated my R-Studio (NTFS) software from v7 to the latest v8 build (8.2.165337). With the v8 emergency startup CD, if I choose "Open drive files", it will display the folder structure but it doesn't show any of the files within the folders. My R-Studio Emergency v7 works fine (always has), as does the new v8 Windows-based R-Studio. This problem only occurs with v8 of the Linux-based emergency startup CD.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Check your file filters. If you have both existing and deleted files unchecked you won't see any files.

Thanks for your reply. I figured it out. It appears to be a video resolution or window/workspace-sizing bug in v8 Emergency disk.

I had noticed that on my sytem all dialog boxes (and even the startup splash screen) would appear at the extreme right side of the screen, instead of being centered. See attachment image 1 below.

As it turns out, the main program window (at its default maximized size) is also extending way past the right edge of my screen, with the Folders pane taking up the entire visible screen width. The Contents pane is actually beyond the right screen edge (and therefore not visible). That's why I couldn't see any of the files. See attachment 2 below.

Luckily, I can get around this by de-maximizing the program window, dragging it to the left, and re-sizing the Folders and Contents panes as necessary. See attachment 3 below.

It seems like the program is not properly sizing the workspace in accordance with my monitor's resolution.
Hopefully R-TT will address this bug, but at least I now have have a workaround.

You can select a screen resolution for R-Studio: Tools -> Display settings.
