Thank you for the update

I'm glad they were not urgent data, for a company waiting so long for a powersupply to get again access to the data,

would have been a big damage

Regards

@Macnugget

The hot-spare could be a slight issue if it ever has been activated in the past.

But that's not a big deal, you'll easy locate it with R-Studio HEX viewer.

The LED of it does not Shine.

So if the issue is only related to the power supply, then replacing it, it might just work and you'll have learned a good lesson in the importance of backing up data.

So I assume then that when it "failed" it just completely went dead? Did you try testing to see if there is voltage on the power supply?

With the old power supply, were the drives spinning up?

He never said that. He said: "my LACIE 5big could be damaged!" and "It could be that the Nas itself is broken!"

He mentioned he was waiting for a power supply but for all we know, it's because he lost the power supply or just wants to rule that out before proceeding.

Hi DataMedics

Macnugget explained that the issue is the power supply, dead.

A common failure with LaCie 5 Big.

Yes, where I talk about possible issues with the filesystem, I mean exactly that.
