Copying from the mounted image to a fast hard drive is extremely slow
Where is the bottle neck?
I can tell you what is NOT the bottle neck:
NOT cpu bound
NOT hd bound, source or destination ...

Just the default restore options.
I look at the drive that the restore was done to in explorer and it looks fine. The restore to drive is a different size then the original. I think it has something to do the new boot manager that is used with Vista/2k8. problems with imaging a system/boot drive ...

windows 2k8 boot volume from .arc wont boot.
during testing of r-drive image
1. I made an image of a "live" win2k8 boot/system drive to a .arc file
2. I restored this .arc image to a DIFFERENT hard drive
3. The restored hard drive started to boot but kicked out some error after the boot loader.
I think this has to do something with win2k8 ...
