How was it formatted before than your format event?
Was it HFS+ (apple)? Or something else (e.g. some Linux or Windows)

Re: RAID 5 (hotspare)
Thank you for the update
I'm glad they were not urgent data, for a company waiting so long for a powersupply to get again access to the data,
would have been a big damage

Re: RAID 5 (hotspare)
@Macnugget
The hot-spare could be a slight issue if it ever has been activated in the past.
But that's not a big deal, you'll easy locate it with R-Studio HEX viewer.

Re: RAID 5 (hotspare)
Hi DataMedics
Macnugget explained that the issue is the power supply, dead.
A common failure with LaCie 5 Big.
Yes, where I talk about possible issues with the filesystem, I mean exactly that.

Re: RAID 5 (hotspare)
R-Studio allows to check SMART status
It It worth to give it a check.
If drives are healthy, the only issue could be the filesystem
If you don't find folders and files names, here we can help.

Re: RAID 5 (hotspare)
Hello!
The drives can be quite weared / old
So the issue mostly may have been caused by the drives age.
Check out our twitter for some pictures of LaCie Big recovered by us http://www.twitter.com/recuperodatiVR
The key point is to save the single drives cloning them with proper hardware devices ...

Re: Please Add Sh or Bundle for linux Generic
Sorry
But hopefully accidentally, your post' last phrase, written as it is, looks more an ad for a third party software.
For correctness, I would kindly suggest you to edit the last phrase and write a more generic
"Another software have a generic version for linux.."
Kind regards
