RStudio hanged on "Open Drive Files" on image of drive

Post by nerozero » Mon Sep 23, 2019 5:06 am

Hello,

The R-Studio is hanging each time I'm trying to open scan data of disk image (8GB usb flash drive image).
Screenshot from 2019-09-23 14-00-05.png
The scan process never ends, after 1 hour i found a message in red telling that the scan process is hanged. Pressing Stop - has zero effect. even killing a process doesn't close the window.

Please help.

OS: Linux Mint 19.2 / 64bit

A couple of common causes of these sorts of things:

1. A Bad drive (but if you're working with an image I'd assume it's stored on a good drive)
2. Not enough RAM in your workstation to load the full file system. You'd be amazed how much better data recovery software works on a machine with 16+ Gb of RAM.

There's something unusual for that small 8GB storage device.

Just for kicks, try scanning the image with a demo of UFS Explorer.
