Data Recovery and Disk Utilities Forum @R-TT

Good morning a few weeks ago because of a problem I had with the OS of my computer (Macbook OSX Catalina) I was forced to reinstall it. My frustration is, that if I realize they deleted audio and text files very important to me, and that they are part of a doctoral thesis in which I am working a couple of years ago. Would it be possible to recover some of what was lost? I lack knowledge on data recovery issues and ad-hoc software. I would appreciate some help in that regard. Best regards
