How do you correctly save a completed scan?

I ran a complete scan that took 10+ hours. In the scan dialog box, I saved this to a file (scan1).

When the scan completed, I saved it again to a different location using "Drive -> Save Scan Information..." (scan2).

Later, I restarted my computer, started R-Studio Technician Demo and opened the two scans with "Drive -> Open Scan Information..."

* scan1 looks like it did after the scan completed. I can find the information I'm trying to recover.
* scan2 looks unfamiliar. It nests the Device/Disk tree deeper than I recognize, and I haven't been able to find the info I'm trying to recover.

Questions:
  1. Why do these scans look different?
  2. Which is the "correct" scan?

Did you load these scans simultaneously or separately?

If by separately you mean one at a time, then yes, separately. I opened scan2, saw it looked different from how I remember, then opened scan1.

This is very strange, but I can no longer reproduce the issue. Scan1 and 2 look identical.
