Partition recovery - messed up but not deleted

Post by dataforge » Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:18 pm

Using Windows 10, NTFS

The partition I am trying to recover was not deleted but somehow messed up.

I tried to resize a partition with a supposedly safe program. After the operation finished, I was left with a partition that was the right size but showed as unformatted "raw".

R-Studio detects the NTFS partition (Recognized0) and shows the correct label.

How do I recover this? Can it change the partition to be read as NTFS?

I'm trying a full scan but it will take many hours.

I want to restore the partition and not have to copy the files elsewhere.

A failed partition manager is a rather complex task for data recovery. This article explains why: Data Recovery After Partition Manager Crash.
A complete scan will be necessary.

You can't correct the partition, at least not with our data recovery products. You'll have to copy all files from the recognized partition and then recreate it. Then the files should be copied back.
