How many month or years ist the Linux-version of R-Studio behind the Windows-version?
2.
Can a Linux-V5-license key be used as well for RStudio v9 for Windows?

But why then this version-numbering discrepancy? Why is the Linux version not numbered V8 ?

Because R-Studio for Linux was developed later.
