R Studio question.

I just downloaded R Studio demo version to check if it can detect my hard drive that crashed because of a power failure. I tried connecting it using a SATA to USB 2.0 adapter. Before I decide to invest in R Studio I have a couple of questions

1) Does R Studio work if I connect a hard drive using a USB 2.0 adapter
2) Will R Studio be able to recover hard disk data if my bios doesnt detect the hard drive, it says hard disk failure.

Any help on this appreciated.

1. Yes, if the hardware of a connected HDD works properly. Your computer should see it in the Windows Disk Manager. It does not matter whether Windows sees or not logical disks on that HDD. Bad blocks may affect the chances to recover files, but R-Studio still will work with the HDD.
2. No. If your system does not see a properly working HDD.
