While trying to delete a couple of folders on a partion on my hard drive (in windows 7) using command prompt, I accidently deleted all the folders in that partion (note to self - do not mess about with things you don't realy understand)

I have not used the partion since doing this and was wondering what is the best way to recover the folders & the files inside the folders.

The article So, what do you have to do to get deleted files back? explains what to do in this case.

Thanks for that, but i have a problem in that the folders that i deleted on the drive come to around 400meg in totlal & i dont have anywhere else to put them.

Therefore I need a way to recover them back to where they were if possible.

The only SAFEST way to recover your files is to borrow a disk, maybe from your friend, recover the files to that disk, and then copy the files back to your disk.
Otherwise, any recovery error may make file recovery much more difficult, if even possible.
