Hello,
I did some backup files every week on an external hard drive.
The backup is in tar gzip format, the name is files.tgz.
The size is around 300GB.
I tried to copy this file and only 34GB can be copied. There was an error message like "corrupted file".
I did some Linux command on the disk with fschk with these results :
Code: Select all
The counting of free blocks is wrong for group # 3720
...
bitmap differences inode
...
The counting of free i-nodes is wrong for group # 159
...
I did an automatic repair with fschk and since this time, my 300GB files.tgz doesn't appear any more in the file manager.
So, i used R-Linux.
I did a bit-to-bit image of my external disk and i work with it.
I did a scan with known files bzip2 and gzip and other files.
After the scan is completed, when i click on the "Open Files Drive" button, i see all files like in the file manager, without the one i search for.
I would like to recover my 300GB files.tgz which has disappeared from the file manger, probably from the partition table, but is yet (i hope) in the disk.
Can you help me to do some other command with R-Linux ?
Thanks in advance.
