New versions can’t see HDD in reboot mode ('Restore' Problem)

First of all, I apologize for illegal use of your great product
I’m in a 3rd world country, with no credit card, with one of the world’s most worthless currencies, and can’t afford to pay

I’ve worked with 5 versions of 'R-Drive Image'

4.7.4730 , 6.0.6002 , 6.2.6207 , 6.2.6208 , 7.1.7105

In not-reboot mode, all work fine ...

In reboot mode, for years, I’ve tested them with some Laptops
including 'Dell Inspiron 15R (N5110)', 'Dell Vostro 1520', 'HP ProBook 4540s', 'Lenovo G50-70', 'Asus V502L'
or some PCs like 'Asus A8N5X', 'Foxconn M61PMV'

The versions 4.7.4730 & 6.0.6002 can see all partitions of HDD, in reboot mode

But in most cases, versions 6.2.6207 & 6.2.6208, [and now, 7.1.7105,] can see only the primary active partition of HDD, in reboot mode
→ So, no 'Restore' is possible

I think, there is something (drivers, modules, etc) in 4.7.4730 & 6.0.6002 versions that is lost in the subsequent versions

All my experiences are 'Windows' based

The storage controller setting in the BIOS, is in AHCI mode for Laptops
and in IDE or AHCI mode for PCs

What does that mean? "Reboot version". The Startup version of what?

Working in ' reboot mode ' , not ' Reboot version ' ‼


If you try to restore the partition on which an OS (Operating System) is installed,
R-Drive Image says,

[•] Restart computer (mandatory for the system disk)

[ ] Retry to lock the disk once again

[ ] Force Windows to unlock the disk (not recommended)

Actually, you have only one option, i.e.

So, 'reboot mode' means, restoring a partition after boot
when R-Drive Image must find storages and disk partitions, independent of OS

In this mode,
Versions 4.7.4730 & 6.0.6002 show all partitions
But newer versions (6.2.6207 & 6.2.6208, [and now, 7.1.7105]) show nothing
or show only the primary active partition, depending on the case


But, if by “Startup version”, you mean 'Drive Image Boot CD'
I’ve also tested 'Drive Image Boot CD'/'Startup version'
of each released version [ = 4.7.4730 , 6.0.6002 , 6.2.6207 , 6.2.6208, 7.1.7105 ]
with no different results

Yesterday, I installed 'Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit (2009)'
on an old system with the following characteristics

Before installation, I partitioned the HDD as follows,

500MB (Used space 65.4MB) NTFS System Reserved (Active*)
C: 82.5GB (Used space ...GB) NTFS (Primary)
D: 66.0GB (Used space ...GB) NTFS (Primary)

+ Test

1. I installed Windows on C: Drive

2. I created an Image of the C: Drive using 'R-Drive Image 4.7.4730'
    and saved the Image on the D: Drive

3. Then, I tried to restore the Image, using every version of 'R-Drive Image'

+ Result

All versions [ = 6.0.6002 , 6.2.6207 , 6.2.6208 , 7.1.7105 ] worked fine, except 4.7.4730

i.e. When I tried to restore the Image, using 'R-Drive Image 4.7.4730', it said,

+ Conclusion

So, in this case, the result was in contrary to what I said before

I don’t know why, but as far as I guess, in my previous experiences,
there was no 'NTFS System-Reserved no-name Active/Boot Partition'
i.e. the boot data was stored on C: Drive, as Active Partition, along with the Operating System

Anyway, 'R-Drive Image 6.0.6002' is the only version that works for me, under any circumstances
