VISTA Reboots during HD image creation

While creating a HD image on a new HP laptop running VISTA, 20% into the process a blue screen appears (multiple overlaid blue screens actually) stating the computer must recover from a error, dumps memory and reboots.

Repeated attempts netted the same result.

This is a new HP Providian Entertainment laptop. No software other than R-Drive Image has been installed.

The image is being created on a USB WD 500 GB passport drive which already has a full image of my desktop computer that is running XP media SP3 which worked flawlessly. (Yes there is plenty of room for the image)

Using Registered Version of RDI 4.5 build 4509.

Any help would be appreciated.

The fix is so simple that’s why I didn’t think of it before I searched and posted.

If you have this problem, create a boot CD from the RDI menu.
Boot the vista machine using the boot CD.
Use RDI startup mode to create the image.

Worked perfectly!

Surely, the startup version is a good workaround. But the Windows version should not cause the BSOD. Please, contact our techsupport with this problem providing a reference to this topic. Most likely they will ask you to provide some additional info to enable us fix this problem.
Thank you in advance for helping us in making R-Drive Image better.
