Error: File is corrupted (error #3400)

I am running the latest build (5304) and still cannot generate a backup that will 'check' successfully. I started with the previous build 5303 and doing a 'Create an Image' did in fact produce a backup file successfully. After its creation I then did a 'Check an Image File' at which time it produced the error message "Error: File is corrupted (error #3400)" within 1 minute of beginning the check. I then tried doing another 'Create an Image' requesting that it check the image file immediately after creating it. This produced the same error. I just upgraded to the newest build (5304) hoping the problem would be fixed but it was not ... same results. I am using a Segate FreeAgent external drive which works flawlessly in any and all other disc activities. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
