Surface Pro 4

Post by LBGITOPS » Thu Feb 04, 2016 5:46 pm

I was able to create an image for the Surface using 6.0 (Build 6008) but when I attempt to preform a restore to another Surface the destination drive does not appear. I can see my external where my images are stored and the external flash used to boot but no destination. Is there something I can do to get the destination drive to show up? Is this an issue with solid state drives or the Surface's UEFI?

Upon review I remembered that I created the image from inside windows using the RDrive.exe but I'm also unable to restore the image that way. I get an error about being unable to restart the unit due to inability to install the loader. Any insight would be helpful.

I assume that you used the startup version, right?

Yes, on a flash drive. But I also tried using the .exe.

The startup version would not identify the destination drive.
Using the .exe gave me an error with options to Restart, Try again or Force Windows to Lock drive. I tried selecting all three with a negative result. The restart option looked the closest to working but gives an error about not being able to restart/ install the loader.

Try to use the latest version. If that fails, send us the system info (the About button) to raptorbck (at) gmail (dot) com.
