R-drive differential error

Hello,

We are running backup on a server with active deduplication to keep the size of the files to a minimum. Everything work fine until we try to take a differential backup of the original file. ( the original file is duplicated at this moment )

We get the following error right after the backup start :

! Error reading the file: Abort (auto)
! Creating differential backup read object failed with code 0x2b810000, Read from disk failed
! Extended file info: (1) \\Deduplicated_Server\File.arc
! Operation failed: Write to disk failed (error #3053)

We can restore data from the original file and the Verify backup command give us no error.

Do R-drive support deduplication for differential backup ?

Thank for the help !

Was that an unattended task (through the scheduler or script), or you ran the task manually?
Looks like a problem with accessing the disk on the server.

The back up is started via a script but I have access to the server.

I did more testing and I never have any problem with the differential backup unless a deduplication have been run on the server. It really seem like the deduplication is causing some problem with the back up. Sadly we need to run the deduplication to have enough space on the server to keep all backup and I don't have any "Back up plan" right now !

Thank !

So, the problem isn't with R-Drive Image?

No, the problem was that the computer starting the back up was blocked by the server because of some McAffe setting but the blocking was only occuring if the data was deduplicated.
