Which entry is responsible for wipe of index.dat files?

Post by pstein » Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:04 am

As well known there are a couple of index.dat files living on a Windows system

How can I delete/wipe them with R-Wipe&Clean?

I found no entry containing the pattern "...index.dat..."

Is there a place where I define additional index.dat files?

Actions in R-Wipe & Clean are oriented toward various security items rather than files. If someone wants to clean, say, History, R-Wipe & Clean wipes the respective files, including indexing ones. This way is more clear for a regular user than specifying a particular *.dat file.
Still, if you want R-Wipe & Clean wipe a particular file (an index one included), you may even wipe it manually or add it to a wipe list. See respective help [ages for more information.
