R-linux won't stop scanning, even after countdown

Hello,
I'm on CachyOS (Arch-based), and after some symbolic links snafu I lost the content of my Documents/Downloads/Pictures folders on an ext4-formatted 4TB nvme.
That was 6 days ago.
I did search for a way to recover that data, and ended up trying r-linux, first with a regular scan, and then (since it yielded nothing) with an advanced scan.
That scan lasted roughly 3 days and 10 hours.
It's been almost two days since that, and r-linux is still scanning and using a couple cpu cores (as it has been during the initial scan).
I did have r-linux create a .scn for the scan, but its last update time was on the first day on the scan (its size is ~122MB)...
Any help/hints would be appreciated.
