ReadyNas Duo - Raid 0

Post by FireBIade » Thu Nov 28, 2013 12:10 pm

Hi All,

My readynas duo (v1) went a bit wrong and claimed one of my drives had died. After removing the drives and plugging them both into my PC, then running non-destructive diagnostics, they physically seem fine passing SMART tests and such. However the data partition appears missing so the readynas boots but just doesn't give me access to the shares because the data partition is MIA. :(

I was hoping R-Linux would be able to salvage my data, and scanning the drives individually does yeild some results, however the files are corrupt presumably because of the Raid 0 stripe neading the other drive.

Can R-Linux use raid modes or do I need R-studio for this?

In future I will make an offline/offsite backup of really important things

Only R-Studio can work with RAIDs.
You may though fully test whether it can recover data or not before buying it.
