How to recover Linux disk from NAS

Post by tnjholland11 » Thu Oct 30, 2014 10:28 am

Hi,
I need to recover data from a Linux SATA disk which was in a NAS, I plan to use R-TT software.
So my plan is to setup a machine running Ubuntu having a native SATA disk, install the R-TT software, and install the disk that was in the NAS as second disk in the Ubuntu machine.
I definitely need to avoid any additional data being written to the NAS disk to be recovered.
Will this scenario work ?
Thanks for the advice

That should work. But I recommend you to setup a Windows machine. Most likely, the file system on the NAS is something of the Linux flavor, and Windows cannot write anything to such disks. R-Studio for Windows can recover files from Linux disks.
