Need help recovering RAID5 + Windows Dynamic Disk

Post by joec » Wed Oct 07, 2015 11:13 am

We recently had a server fail. As far as we know the SATA hard drives are all OK, just the server chassis failed.

What we had is a C and D drive. 2 separate partitions, but all are on the same virtual disk. The D drive was extended using Windows Dynamic Volumes and it was extended to another SATA disk, which we also have.

We can recreate the RAID5 just fine and even recover data. Trouble is, all our data is on that D drive. We can see the partition in R-Studio but we cannot view any files, it gives warning that no filesystem is detected.

How do we recover data from the second partition that was extended with a Windows Dynamic Disk? Is that possible in R-Studio?

Is there anyway to tell R-Studio to "link" partition 2 with the extended Windows disk?

Thanks!

Interesting case
But we would need the drives or their images to work on it
Either a remote connection as last option

I need a screenshot of R-Studio's left (Drives) pane to look on.
