R-Drive Image not using USB drive

Post by royslough » Tue Apr 24, 2012 4:31 am

Hello,

I have R-Drive image 4.5 (build 4507)
which I have used for a long time to create an image of my computer as a backup. It works well for me and I do not need any new functionality (i.e. I do not want to buy another later version)
I make an image a couple of times a year when I know my system is good, and occasionally I have to go to a backup when something bad happens.

Now when I boot onto the CD with my USB drive attached it reports it cannot save an image to the drive, It reports
I cannot save files onto the selected folder as it is mounted read-only.
Reason the filesystem was not cleanly unmounted.

What can I do to make the drive available for backup (i.e. create a more recent image file)

Thank you

That may happen when you just plugged the drive off rather than disconnect it properly using the Safely Remove Hardware... applet in the Windows system tray. You may recover that by connecting the drive to a Windows machine and then disconnect it properly. That should help.
