Hello,

I have accidentally deleted Symantec Backup Exec's .bkf files from my QNAP TS-201 RAID1 device. I was able to mount the ext2 drive under Windows 7 with Ext2Fsd. The r-studio scan found the deleted files, but all sized at 0 bytes (please see the screenshot). Is there any way or chance to recover the files?

Thanks in advance.

I recommend you to scan the hard drive directly from R-Studio bypassing the Win7 extFS driver. If that doesn't help, only scan for known files (file signatures) for the file itself may work. And you need to create a Known File Type description file.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Are you saying that Backup Exec .bkfs are not supported by R-Studio's known file types and require a custom description file?

Thanks!

Looks like not, but this is not a big deal to create such a file. The article Creating a Custom Known File Type for R-Studio
