Hello,
I have a unique situation. I have a PC in a machine that I need to image the HDD; taking the HDD out of the PC will not be allowed. The only devices/ports I have access to is a CD-ROM and serial port, respectively.
I was wondering if I'd be able to connect a serial cable from the machine PC to a laptop with an external USB to create an image.
Thank you,

Re: Backup PC to external USB via serial port from laptop
There're some programs that connect 2 Windows PCs through a serial cable. They have to be run on both PCs simultaneously, and they don't use the IP protocol to communicate. I doubt that you can run R-Drive Image and it'll see the external disks.
