1) Delete a folder that contains a file or set of files.
2) Open the corresponding disk/volume in R-Studio.
3) Use R-Studio to attempt to navigate to the folder that was deleted.

The deleted folder will not be visible under its original location. Instead, it will appear as "$$$FolderNum" (where "Num" is a string of digits) under "Extra Found Files" without any information pertaining to its original name or path. Any files that were contained within the deleted folder, however, will appear correctly under this R-Studio location.

Note: Files that are deleted alone (whose containing folder is not) remain unaffected and recoverable with correct, intact paths.

Thank you, Alt, for trying to help remedy this issue.
I was not able to reproduce this (using Win7 - 64bit; Disk=1.81TB, NTFS; R-Studio v7.6 build 158715)
1. I created a file with following path:
H:\Test\DeleteMe\DeleteMe.txt
2. I deleted the folder (with file) DeleteMe
3. I opened the volume in R-studio and the deleted directory and file shows up at the expected path

Note that this is a different drive from the drive discussed in the original post.
I should also mention that I have 2,572 folders ($$$FolderNum) under "Extra Found Files"

Comparing v 6.3 and v 7.6
The two version have very different results on my drive "H":

v6.3
Root= 113,134 files & 9,283 Folders
Extra Found Files= 156,561 Files & 1,885 Folders
Sum = 269,695 Files & 11,168 Folders

v7.6
Root= 30,204 files & 9,018 Folders
Extra Found Files= 239,491 Files & 2,572 Folders
Sum = 269,695 Files & 11,586 Folders

The total number of files found are the same in both versions, but v7.6. finds more folders.
Furthermore, there are many more "Extra Found Files" in v 7.6 than in v6.3 (239,491 vs 156,561). In v6.3 those extra files are instead in the correct Root location.

Note also that in my original drive (Q), v7.6 found many files in "Extra Found Files" but there are NO "Extra Found Files" in v6.3 (they are all in their correct location under Root). It appears that v6.3 works "better".

Looks like this bug is fixed. It affected only folders deleted from root.

1. In which version was this fixed? Using v7.6 Build 158715 I still have many files in "Extra Found Files".
2. Note also that in my case, all deleted files were in sub directories. As I explained in my last post, in v7.6 many deleted files were found in "Extra Found Files". In contrast, in v6.3 there were no deleted files in "Extra Found Files"! Thus, there appears to be a bug in v7.6 that did not exist in v6.3.

In last build 7.6.158796 published yesterday May 19, 2015.

Build 7.6.158796 almost behaves as well as v6.3 now. However, in contrast to v6.3 it still puts some files in "Extra Found Files". Here are two situations (Two examples; I have renamed directory names to "myDir_x" and file names to "myFile_x"):

Example 1:
path in version 6.3
Root/RecoveryBin/InProgress/myDir_1/myFile_1
=> path in build 7.6.158796 (after recovery)
Extra Found Files\$$$Folder96862209\myDir_1\myFile_1

Example 2:
path in version 6.3
Root/MSI13ff8.tmp/myDir_2/myFile_2
=> path in build 7.6.158796 (after recovery)
Extra Found Files\$$$Folder96862209\myDir_2\myFile_2

Note:
"RecoveryBin" is a folder created by Condusive Undelete (it replaces the recycle bin: http://www.condusiv.com/products/undelete/)
v6.3 shows 3 folders of the type "MSI13ff8.tmp" (and v7.6 puts the files in those folders in "Extra Found Files"). What are those folders?
