Integrate ddrescue recovery maps

Post by elmo » Sun Aug 04, 2019 4:36 pm

Often, I make an image of a faulty disk using ddrescue and then perform analysis using R-Studio. Is there a way to integrate the ddrescue mapfile into R-Studio so that I could ignore files that haven't been fully recovered (i.e. the mapfile shows read errors for that range of bytes) - maybe via the Recovery Chances mechanism?

It's not possible currently, but I wish this was a feature of the Technician version. I'd second the motion to add such map support. That and PC-3000 map support.

They have supported DDI map files for a few years and still haven't added any way to filter out good/damaged files based on the map. It will show on the interface if the file is imaged or not and even shows the number of unread sectors...but nothing more. It seems that UFS Explorer is working in that direction and will likely give us the features we are looking for sooner than later.
