Failed to recover large files

Post by jimmy » Mon Nov 25, 2019 5:21 am

Hi,

My HP NAS lost its volume after hard reset.

I scanned using R-Studio and manage to find NTFS file folder structures. This prompt me to start a recovery process.

However I notice only small files were recovered correctly. Large files such as ZIP and video are corrupted.

Is there any possibility to resolve this by changing configuration?

What is the NAS model?

HP EasyStore 1600 series.

On a good system, the FS is reported as Local (3:1) SAS.

On this bad system, it was reported as RAID(2:1). Not sure what is the difference.

Apparently the RAID parameters are incorrect. You may try to find one manually using this article: Finding RAID parameters.

Without correction to FS, the file structures could already be loaded.

My problem is that small files could be recovered while big files (> 1GB) are corrupted. What could be the issue?

Incorrect RAID parameters.
