Previous Editions of R (Linux) and RStudio

Post by Thettles » Wed May 07, 2025 10:33 am

I'm trying to recover data from a formatted EXT4 RAID 1 on Ubuntu 22.04, but R-Studio and R-Linux crash during scans. Where can I find older versions in case it's a bug in the latest release?

I’ve run into similar issues before. Sometimes the latest version of R-Studio or R-Linux has bugs that affect scanning certain RAID setups. Older versions can sometimes be more stable. You can usually find them on the official R-Studio/R-Linux support or archive pages—they often provide downloads for previous releases. If not, their support team can send older installers upon request. Also, while waiting, you might want to try other Linux-native recovery tools like testdisk or photorec for EXT4, especially for RAID 1, since these can sometimes bypass the crashing issue.
