smart array p800

Post by draurdraur » Sun Jun 06, 2010 2:51 pm

I have deleted raid5 configuration on hp p800 controller. After that I did not used that disks for new raid. Disks are SAS. I do not know how to present that disks to computer as single physical disk and recover data. I have only options for raid 0,5 and 6. Maybe I can make false raid 0 with 1 disk but I am afraid to corrupt data on disk.
Do you have some suggestion?

The best way to avoid data corruption on hard drives is to create images of them. Then you can experiment with them as you like. See more on image creation on our help: http://www.unformat-unerase.com/Unforma ... index.html -> Data Recovery Using R-Studio -> Advanced Data Recovery -> Images
As I understand, you need to create a virtual RAID5. See more on the online help: http://www.unformat-unerase.com/Unforma ... index.html -> Data Recovery Using R-Studio -> Volume Sets and RAIDs

Yes, but for create image, computer must see drive. On this controller I can not present single disk to computer. I can make raid 0,5 or 6.

I surely would try to find a controller that can connect SAS drives as single disks.
