R-Drive Image Boot - Older Machines

Post by F-I » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:43 am

Hello,

my company recently bought a R-Drive Image Technician license for backupping quite a few old PC's..
I am very satisfied with the software, but i ran into the following problem:

It seems that if the PC has 32MB RAM or less, R-Drive Image can't boot (from floppy in that case). Can you confirm that?
(It is a Pentium 1 MMX with 133MHz and 32MB RAM)

I tried to find a computer similar to that, but failed. I think, this computer is too weak.

I've tested the issue with all kinds of virtual machines now and can confirm the problem.
64MB RAM seems to be the minimum. Below that, RDI does not boot.

I hardly ever can imagine now a working computer with 32 MB. Although, my first PC had 4MB.
