I moved some files out of a HD and the new one died, but lucky me, I haven't written anything to the old one so I hope a can recover the files.
I use the 'Scan' command, select the partition with the right size and the indeed does show the erased content, but...
When I choose 'Open Drive Files' it throws some errors of these two kinds:
[FileId: #] MTF record child's claimed parent mismatch, aborting
[FileId: #] Fixup # is 0x####, but should be 0x1
The file tree seems right and complete, but when I recover the files, which are all audio, the content does not correspond to the path.
As they're audio files the play anyway even tough they start from the middle of the songs.
So I guess all the contents are there, but the MTF is corrupted or something.
Is there a way to match the paths to their contents?
Wrong file content
Re: Wrong file content
Yes, it seems so. You may try to find them among the Extra Found Files found during the scan. The filename and path would be lost, though.CarlosGil wrote: [FileId: #] MTF record child's claimed parent mismatch, aborting

See more about that in R-Studio's online help: Disk Scan: Known File Types.
Re: Wrong file content
Is there no way to recreate the paths?
Re: Wrong file content
No, if you use scan for known file types. Sorry.
