during testing of r-drive image
1. I made an image of a "live" win2k8 boot/system drive to a .arc file
2. I restored this .arc image to a DIFFERENT hard drive
3. The restored hard drive started to boot but kicked out some error after the boot loader.
I think this has to do something with win2k8/vista's new boot structure.
thanks, John

Re: windows 2k8 boot volume from .arc wont boot.
I passed the problem to our developers.
But can you provide more details about the error and restore options in R-Drive Image you specified?

Re: windows 2k8 boot volume from .arc wont boot.
Just the default restore options.
I look at the drive that the restore was done to in explorer and it looks fine. The restore to drive is a different size then the original. I think it has something to do the new boot manager that is used with Vista/2k8. problems with imaging a system/boot drive that is in use? (VSS issues?)
When I try to boot, I get the boot menu but then it stops
