I did a test:
1:Create a 50MB blank file use WinHex, and mount it use ImDisk2.06, then format it to NTFS (Windows 10);
2:I have a 108KB swf Flash movie called 1.swf, rename it to abcde1, a 5.90MB PDF document called 1.pdf, rename it to abcde2, then copy them to the mounted virtual disk;
3:Delete them, then quick format the virtual disk;
4:Unmount the file, now the file become a disk image;
5:Scan the image......
I use R-Studio 7.7.159.851, *** and ***
The result of R-Studio is a PDF, and it's the same as original(CRC32); the SWF is lost.
The result of *** is the same as ***, both file are recovered same as original(CRC32).
Above is a example; When do RAW scan, R-Studio always lost file in the support file types list; and always found invalid files that does not ever exist.
And R-Studio doesn't support lots of useful file types that are supported by *** and ***.
Hope you improve. Thanks!

Re: Hope R-Studio improve RAW recovery
One advantage of R-Studio is that you can add custom file types into it if it doesn't support them. All you need are a few sample files to analyze in HEX to see their opening and closing signatures. Post a few sample files (at least three different ones) and I can build you a quick xml plugin for it.
While some other programs may come with a few more RAW algorithms, you can't beat being able to make your own in those odd cases. I've recovered files with R-Studio that nothing else could even attempt.

BTW, our developers will improve recognition for SWF files, and you'll see that in the next build.

Oh my god, I don't know how to discribe third-party softwares.....
But thank you! I will study how to write the xml, and thanks for improving SWF recognition!
And if you can improve the .MP3 and Ghost image file (.GHO and .GHS) recognition? Thanks!
