R-Wipe&Clean and SSDs

Post by stardust »

Does R-Wipe&Clean (currently at 11.7.2173) attempt to overwrite all the files it deletes, even on SSDs? It seems it does. I would like to prevent it from overwriting at all, especially on my SSD. Is this possible? If not, could you make it so? Please advise.

We'll add proper handling of SSD in the next release.

I'm running 11.10 Build 2189 and it still seems to overwrite files. I'm basing this on the fact that the wiping dialog says "Wiping Files from selected Wipe Lists..." and because of how long it hangs on individual files. I don't want to have to use forensics tools to see what is really going on.

Assuming it's still wiping, how can I prevent this? Can I prevent this?

I have "Wipe files before deleting" under "Docs and Internet" unchecked.

At this point, I can only assume that RWC has been abandoned. I'll uninstall it soon. Thanks for the support prior to this.

A new version is coming soon addressing this issue.
