In a simple testing environment (like several virtual machines etc), the consequences might not appear so anything like that does not have any real value.

In real environment, I'm not brave enough to test it :)

An interesting question. I'd recommend you to test that configuration even someone says it'll work.

hello team,

apologies for having a question not directly related to your products : is there any special requirement or recommendation for restoring win2003/win2008 DC in network where several other domain controllers exist ? Or can we just simply schedule backup image to be taken every night via R-Drive Image and if something goes wrong with the DC, just restore that image taken several hours back to server and boot it up - and let the Active Directory mechanism perform all necessary replications based on their relative numbers which increment everytime new change is introduced to database ?

Or would there be major failure, inconsistency or whatever related to the Active Directory ? If anybody can shred some light on this topic with real experience, I'd appreciate it very much.
