Looks like this is a hardware problem with the disk. If it's so, R-Studio and any other data recovery software couldn't help. If it's possible, you may try to get the disk out of its case and connect it to your computer via, most likely, a SATA port. If not, you'll have to go to a data recovery professional.

R-Studio: Portable HDD

Hello.

I have this portable HDD here that's undetected by my pc.
The light goes on and everything.
When i go into my Device Manager, it shows up as "Unkown Device".

I tried to reinstal my usb drivers, tried to connect the hdd to different usb slots and differrent computers, nothing helped.

Now some guy i know, told me that R-Studio might help me, but is this software able to detect a portable corrupted hdd?

I know it's a common problem, i searched all over the net.
I'm so desperate, i might wanna try out this website: http://freedatarecovery.us/
Anyone familiar with this website, i don't know, might be a scam?

I hope someone can help me.

Regards,

Ross
