We tested how a Windows 8 machine boots from an R-Drive Image startup CD, and found no problems. Maybe, your computer has some hardware issues with R-Drive Image, please, contact our techsupport with this problem. They'll help you to solve it.

I've passed the problem to our developers and they'll investigate into it. Meanwhile, you may try to use a USB stick for a startup disk.

for some reasons the bootable CD will not work on newer laptops with windows 8, I tried changing to legacy mode. the cursor keep on blinking for several hours attempting to do something but no success.
