What was the system, Windows 7 or 8? If yes, did you include a small startup partition in addition to the system one? See the article Computer Recovery and System Restore for more details.

I am having the following problem,
I have created an image of a system, using a (USB) startup disk I put a complete image onto
another identical machine. R-drive says that the image was restored correctly. So far so good :-)
However, when I reboot the new system I get a (DOS) warning stating that the boot manager is missing.

Am I missing something...? Or doing anything wrong
