Yes you got it, it's part of a RAID1-volume :-)

If it's a part of a RAID1, or a mirror, the partition size should be equal to the disk.

Yes you got it, it's part of a RAID1-volume :-)

Most likely some service data of the partition is corrupted, or the disk is a part of a compound volume: RAID, or an LVM volume.
One may speculate that it diminishes the chances for successful recovery, but nothing more can be said without close inspection of the disk or its image.

Hello

I opended an dd-image containing 4 partitions (extfs) in RStudio("open image") , but the following message is shown is the status bar:

"Partition at 4291234567 extends beyond disk bounds"

Does the reason of this message influence the recovery-chance?
