If you know there's bad sectors, you should always be imaging the drive first. Preferably this should be done with a hardware tool like DeepSpar Disk Imager, but at the very least use ddrescue in linux to do it. Logical recovery should only be performed on the copy.

Hello forum

When RStudio tries to restore files which are related to bad sectors, it does crash and many files which are not related to bad sectors are not recovered....
(even "Skip fikles with bad sectors is marked")

Is there a way to have RStudio generated a list of the unrestored/not restored files
(or is there a better and probably more automated approach to restore the not yet restored files after a crash)?
