The best way to go about it is to just do a smart copy over to the new drive, then resize the partitions to fit after.

I have been using R-Drive, and renewing the Technician license, for about 4 years now. However, the support, or lack thereof has been an ongoing issue. It's really making me start to look into other products.

Restoring Win 10 to larger disk

by CAD » Mon Oct 07, 2019 12:54 pm

I'm having an issue where I'm not able to correctly restore to a larger disk.

When I chose:

Option 1: Expand/Shrink partition to whole disk - It increases the size of all partitions proportionally but doesn't boot. Goes to Windows recovery but the recovery options don't even work.

Option 2: Expand/Shrink partition to whole disk + Fixed active partition - This boots but expands only the recovery partition.

Is there a way to expand only the Windows partition when restoring?

Thanks in advance.
