This is a very bad situation. You need to go to a real data recovery professional, and even they often are out of success.

Recover Data from LockBit Ransomware?

by Lyly19 » Tue May 13, 2025 4:26 am

Hello everyone,

My external hard drive has recently been infected and encrypted by what appears to be the LockBit ransomware. All my important files now have a strange extension, and a ransom note in each folder asks for cryptocurrency payment.

I’ve tried using basic recovery tools like Recuva and R-Studio, but they only recover the encrypted versions of the files.

Has anyone here successfully recovered data from a LockBit-encrypted drive without paying the ransom?
Are there any known decryption tools, or is data recovery possible by restoring previous file versions or shadow copies?

Thank you!
