I assume you double-checked the problems with access rights, faulty drives, access to a network share, etc.
Then, we need the LAST 2MB of data from the file. You may use any hex editor for that purpose, maybe one built into R-Studio. Then send it to me to raptorbck (at) gmail (dot) com. We'll analyze it and try to determine what's wrong with the file.
And getting access to such a huge file is not so much an issue as you may think. We can look at it over the Internet using R-Studio. The overall concept is described in our article
R-Studio Technician: Data Recovery over the Internet. Maybe, we'll have to do that to check your file more thoroughly.
