That means the disk has hardware errors. Recovery speed will drop drastically. You may be thinking about stopping the recovery.
Files that have been recovered and saved will remain on their places.

At 77% on a recovery of a Seagate Backup device got a message that says...
"Read disk Seagate Backup+ BK 0835 at position 779917487616 failed after 1 attempts.The semaphore timeout period has expired (121)"
This message appears several times but with a different file number (I'm assuming that's the file number). It's stuck at 77%. I've never seen this before and don't know what to do. Don't want to lose what I've already recoverd. Thank you
