Yes, a full backup first, then differential / incremental images.
Differential: difference between the last full backup.
Incremental: difference between the last image file, be it full backup / differential /incremental.

Forgive me but I am a Newbie and do not understand the documentation on how to do a first backup. Should I do my first backup with Image Mode set to Full, and then follow with differential or incremental backups?

Also, what is the difference between differential and incremental?
